This project consisted of retrofitting the exterior siding of an existing duplex, and a kitchen and landscape design for one unit.  Located steps from the Chesapeake Bay, this 1970s wood frame structure is exposed to annual coastal storms.  The new exterior skin design utilized rain-screen technology which coupled permeable cement board siding with a continuous air and water barrier to combat driving rain.  The new kitchen captured space from the former dining area to create a generous workspace, storage and bar-top.
